4. Consent
Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data on the basis of your explicit consent, which you provide when creating an account. Your consent is recorded with a timestamp and the version of this policy it was given for.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account from the Settings page. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing performed before the withdrawal, and does not remove records we are legally required to retain (e.g. transaction receipts).
5. Payment Data
We do not receive, store, or process your card numbers, bank account details, or any sensitive payment information directly.
We only store the transaction reference ID and payment status to maintain purchase records on your account.
6. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties.
We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform (such as Jitsi for live classes). These providers are contractually bound to keep your information confidential and secure.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information: • All passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing • The platform uses HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption) for all data transmission • Access to admin systems is role-restricted • Session tokens are securely managed using NextAuth.js
While we take every reasonable measure to protect your data, no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security. In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in risk to you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India in accordance with the DPDP Act.
We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account and to sign out from shared devices.
8. Cookies & Session Data
We use essential first-party cookies only: • Session cookie — keeps you signed in • kr_locale — remembers your language preference (English or Tamil) • kr_cookie_consent — records that you have seen our cookie notice
We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies that share your data with advertisers.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your student account is active, or as needed to provide services. Once you delete your account, your profile, preferences, quiz attempts, and enrollments are removed within 30 days.
Certain transaction records (Purchase, VideoPurchase) may be retained for up to 8 years to meet accounting, tax, and audit obligations, even after account deletion. These records are stripped of any data not required for that purpose.
10. Your Rights as a Data Principal
You have the following rights under the DPDP Act: • Right to Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Use the 'Download my data' button in Settings. • Right to Correction — request correction of inaccurate information. Members can update profile fields directly in Settings. • Right to Erasure — request deletion of your account and associated data. Use the 'Delete my account' action in Settings. • Right to Withdraw Consent — withdraw consent by deleting your account. • Right to Grievance Redressal — reach out via the contact details below. We will respond within 30 days.
Where a right cannot be fulfilled in full (e.g. because we must retain a receipt for tax reasons), we will explain what portion of the data is retained and why.
11. Children's Privacy
Our platform is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, please do not create an account without your parent or guardian's involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verified guardian consent. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to our platform, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated version identifier. Substantive changes will require you to re-consent on your next login.
